Rajasthan ready to welcome eminent personalities from industry, business, health, education and various fields

Jaipur, 3 December. Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, 33 eminent personalities from industry, trade, education, health, banking, administration and various other fields will attend the ‘Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas’ function organized by the state government on December 10 as state guests.

This special list of state guests includes Mr. Anil Agarwal, Chairman of Vedanta Group, Mr. Hari Mohan Bangur, Chairman of Shree Cement, Mrs. Deepali Goenka, CEO and Managing Director of Welspun Living, Mr. Madhav Singhania, Joint Managing Director of JK Cement, Mrs. Priya Agarwal, Chairperson of Hindustan Zinc, Mrs. Anjali Singh, Chairperson of Anand Group, Mrs. Anjali Singh, Chairman of Titagarh Rail Systems. There are many big names like Mr. Umesh Chaudhary, Vice Chairman, Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Girish Agarwal, Promoter and Director of DB Corp Limited, and Mr. Motilal Oswal, Managing Director and CEO of Motilal Oswal Financial Services.

Under ‘Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas’, the Rajasthan Government has invited these 33 distinguished people who have made outstanding contributions and notable achievements in different fields to attend the function as state guests.

Apart from this, well-known personalities from the medical and health field will also participate in this event. These include Dr. Jaiveer Singh Rathore, President of Doctors of Rajasthan International (DoRI) Foundation and Assistant Professor (Neurology), University of Central Florida School of Medicine, Dr. Vipin Goyal, Clinical Director and Head of Department (Surgical Oncology), Star Hospitals, Hyderabad, Mr. Sanjay Jhawar, Chief Financial Officer, Tata One MG, and Mr. Vipul Jain, CEO, CK Birla Healthcare, who will express their views in the session on the health sector.

Apart from these, experts from banking and tourism sector and senior government officials will also be present as state guests in ‘Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas’. These include Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal, Founder, MD and CEO of AU Small Finance Bank, Mr. Kamal Bali, President and Managing Director of Volvo Group India, Mr. Rikant Pitti, Co-Founder and CEO of EaseMyTrip, and Mr. Mahavir Singhvi, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs.

In view of the announcement made by Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma last year, this first event of ‘Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas’ is going to be organized on 10th December. In a significant administrative development, senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Sujit Pandey has been promoted to the prestigious rank of Director General of Police (DGP) in Uttar Pradesh. The state government issued the promotion order, elevating Pandey to one of the top positions in the police hierarchy.

A Distinguished Career in Policing

Sujit Pandey, known for his disciplined working style and strong leadership skills, has handled several key responsibilities throughout his career. A highly regarded officer, Pandey has built a reputation for effective policing, strategic intelligence handling, and strong field command.

He earlier served as the first Police Commissioner of Lucknow, a position that marked a major step in Uttar Pradesh’s transition from the traditional policing model to the modern commissionerate system. During his tenure, he implemented several reforms focused on crime control, women’s safety, and rapid urban policing.

Currently Serving as ADG Lucknow Zone

Prior to his promotion, Sujit Pandey was serving as the Additional Director General (ADG) of Lucknow Zone, overseeing law and order, crime prevention, and operational policing across multiple districts of central Uttar Pradesh.

His administrative experience and field performance were widely seen as key factors behind his elevation to the DGP rank.

Second Former Lucknow Commissioner to Be Promoted

Notably, Pandey becomes the second former Lucknow Police Commissioner to be promoted to the DGP rank in recent months. Earlier, DK Thakur, another distinguished officer who served as Lucknow’s Police Commissioner, had also been elevated to the DGP level.

Strengthening the Senior Leadership of UP Police

The promotion of Sujit Pandey adds further strength to the senior leadership team of the Uttar Pradesh Police Department. His appointment is expected to contribute to ongoing law-enforcement modernization efforts, improved crime management, and better coordination within the state’s security framework.

Flood of tourists gathered in Nahargarh Biological Park on Sunday

Jaipur, 30 November. Nahargarh Biological Park of the capital Jaipur was buzzing with a huge crowd of tourists on Sunday. The pleasant weather, holiday spirit and attraction of natural beauty attracted large numbers of people to the park. ACF Shri Devendra Singh Rathod said that a total of 2 thousand 316 tourists reached the park on Sunday and took a close look at the rich wildlife world and natural biodiversity here. Of these, Lion Safari and Tiger Safari remained the main center of crowd throughout the day. At the same time, a total of 460 tourists took the first-hand experience of these two safaris and saw closely the powerful, playful and thrilling behavior of the lion and the tiger. The deafening roars of the tigers, the royal stance of the lions and their distinctive gait thrilled the tourists, with many visitors describing the experience as a memorable moment of their life.

These days, Nahargarh Biological Park has emerged as a favorite destination not only for the people of Jaipur but also for the tourists coming from different parts of the country. The main reason for this is the safe, well-organized and tourist-friendly management done by the Forest Department. Under the direction of Deputy Forest Conservator Shri Vijaypal Singh, special attention was paid to tourist safety, cleanliness, ticketing, guiding, crowd control and safari operations. On Sunday, ACF Mr. Devendra Singh Rathod and Ranger Mr. Shubham Sharma did a detailed inspection of the entire arrangements while intensively monitoring both the safaris.

Under the supervision of Range Officer Shubham Sharma, arrangements like regular monitoring of safari routes, timely availability of vehicles, transparent and prompt service at ticketing counters, guidance to tourists, cleanliness of trails and pathways and crowd management were effectively implemented by the Tourism Management Team, making the tourist experience more convenient, safe and enjoyable.

Due to the continuous monitoring and excellent management of the Forest Department, Nahargarh Biological Park today holds a leading position among the major wildlife tourist destinations of Rajasthan. This place is not only a medium of entertainment, but has also become a vibrant center to spread the importance of wildlife conservation, protection of natural habitats, environmental education and biodiversity conservation to the people. The country made a historical record of producing 357 million tonnes of food grains.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the countrymen in the 128th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program on Sunday. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma listened to the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program with the general public at Sanganer Camp Office. 

In his address, the Prime Minister said that India has achieved great achievements in the agriculture sector and has created a historical record of food grain production of 357 million tonnes. He said that India’s food grain production has increased by 100 million tonnes compared to 10 years ago. 

Modi said that more than 1.5 lakh metric tonnes of honey is being produced in the country and the export of honey has also increased more than three times. He also discussed the production of honey by local people and institutions in different areas of the country. He described the huge Natural Farming Conference organized in Coimbatore as a part of India’s ancient traditions and appealed to promote it continuously.

The Prime Minister also talked about the G-20 summit. He said that in the gifts he presented to the world leaders on behalf of the countrymen, he took special care of the spirit of Vocal for Local. Shri Modi said that he presented to the Prime Minister of Canada a replica of a silver horse which shows the finest craftsmanship of Udaipur, Rajasthan. He expressed happiness that crores of people of the country have made the spirit of Vocal for Local a part of their lives. 

The Prime Minister also talked about the presentation of the Mahabharata saga through a 3D light and sound show at the Mahabharata Experience Center in Kurukshetra, Haryana. He said that people from many countries of the world including Europe and Central Asia participated enthusiastically in the International Gita Mahotsav organized at Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra. Shri Modi called for strengthening the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat-Shrestha Bharat’ by maximum participation in the fourth Kashi-Tamil Sangamam to be organized at Namo Ghat in Kashi.

Discussing the performance of Indian players in various sports, the Prime Minister said that winning the ICC Women’s World Cup by the Indian women’s cricket team, the Kabaddi World Cup by the women Kabaddi players and the Blind Cricket World Cup by the women’s team is a historic achievement. He also praised the performance of Indian players in the Deaflympics and World Boxing Cup finals.

Modi said that Navy Day celebrated on December 4 is a special day to honor the indomitable courage and valor of our soldiers. He said that there are naval related museums at various places in the country where information about the history of the navy is available. He described the induction of INS ‘Mahe’ into the Indian Navy, opening of the world’s largest Leap Engine MRO facility in Hyderabad and establishment of Skyroot Startup’s Infinity Campus as a reflection of India’s new thinking, innovation and youth power.

The Prime Minister said that winter tourism is an important part of the economy in many countries of the world. In India too, it has immense potential in states like Uttarakhand. He said that the Himalayan valleys are becoming famous for adventure games and destination weddings. 

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the Mann Ki Baat program is a symbol of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s close bond with the countrymen. Through this program the Prime Minister tells us about the glorious achievements of the country. Along with always encouraging indigenous products, he also reinforces the feeling of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat among the countrymen.

Electronic Toy Project of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology

Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, C-DAC, Indian Toy Industry and LEGO Group organized the convocation ceremony of the second batch of engineering graduates who completed one year training under the project ‘Development of Electronics and IT based Control and Automation Solutions for Consumer Electronic Goods (Toy Industry)’. This project is a special initiative of the Research & Development Group of the Ministry which aims to promote the growth of the Indian electronic toy industry by developing prototypes and equipping young engineers, including from under-represented communities, with the necessary skills to design such toys.

Under this initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, young engineers from SC/ST and North Eastern region backgrounds across India were selected and engaged in R&D work for one year. For the first six months, they got practical experience of working and learning in the e-toy laboratory located at C-DAC-Noida. After this, they were given six months of training to make prototypes of toys as per the industry requirements. The participants were given a monthly stipend of Rs 25,000 for one year.

During the event, Shri Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, inaugurated the Electronic Toy Laboratory set up at C-DAC, Noida. Speaking on the occasion he said, “India is a growing market for electronic toys and electronics and IT can play an important role in building the ecosystem of the Indian toy industry. I am very happy that the foundation for this is being laid and the next generation of engineers are working in this direction. This program can be formalized on a larger scale so that more students can benefit and be more effective in promoting the toy industries overall. At C-DAC-Noida for e-toys The established Center of Excellence will include National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology and other institutes focused on electronic toys. I wish the graduating students all the best for their future.”

World AIDS DAY 2025: India’s global AIDS control success

World AIDS Day is held every year on 1 December to raise awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, remember those who have died from HIV-related diseases, and support people living with HIV/AIDS. It was first flagged by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1988 and has since become a platform for governments, communities and individuals to unite in the fight against the disease. This year’s theme is “Conquering Disruption, Improving the AIDS Response”. This emphasizes the need not only to preserve past progress, but also to transform HIV services to make them more appropriate, equitable and community-led. This theme emphasizes the urgent need to address the disruptions caused by the pandemic, conflicts and inequalities that limit access to care. India celebrates World AIDS Day every year through nationwide awareness campaigns, community outreach activities and renewed government commitments led by the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

 From tea boy to India’s Prime Minister

As a young boy, Narendra Damodardas Modi helped his dad serve tea in Gujarat’s Vadnagar railway station. At the age of 63, and as leader of India’s Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party, he has become the prime minister of the world’s largest democracy.

Born on September 17, 1950, into a low-caste family running a small business, his interest in politics was sparked at an early age: At eight, Modi associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, or the RSS, a powerful Hindu nationalist group which rejected secularism and wanted Hinduism enshrined in the Indian constitution. This policy, Hindutva, remains at the core of the BJP.

It was a logical step when Modi joined the BJP in 1985, as the party licked its wounds after winning just two seats in a disastrous showing in 1984 the Lok Sabha elections.

He rose steadily through the ranks, and was inducted into the national executive in 1991 after aiding Murli Manohar Joshi, a party senior, in his ekta yatra (unity journey) to bolster support.

Four years later, and now a stalwart, Modi worked hard behind the scenes to secure the party victory in Gujarat elections.

Despite his association with Joshi, it was LK Advani, the BJP’s most revered leader, who became his chief political mentor.

“It was Advani who mentored Modi when he virtually handpicked him into his team of state apparatchiks after recommendations from a few trusted peers in the late 1980s,” writes Nilanjan Mukhopadhyay in Modi’s biography, Narendra Modi: The man, the Times.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will be the Prime Ministerial candidate from Bharatiya Janata Party in the next general elections. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Parliamentary Board of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Giving information to the media about this decision, party president Rajnath Singh said in the press conference, “Bharatiya Janata Party has always been announcing its Prime Ministerial candidate. The meeting of the Parliamentary Board was called for this reason and the Board has decided that Narendra Modi should be made the Prime Ministerial candidate of BJP for the 2014 elections.”

After this announcement, Narendra Modi thanked all the party workers on the stage and said, “I have been serving in BJP for many years by performing different responsibilities and according to the power given by God. BJP has given a huge opportunity to a worker like me who comes from a small town.”

After this, there was a rush among Bharatiya Janata Party leaders to congratulate Modi. Leaders like Nitin Gadkari, Arun Jaitley, Murli Manohar Joshi, Sushma Swaraj and Ravi Shankar Prasad welcomed Narendra Modi with flower garlands.

However, the party’s senior most leader Lal Krishna Advani did not attend the meeting of the Parliamentary Board of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

However, later one of his letters definitely appeared in the media in which he expressed his dissatisfaction with the functioning of party president Rajnath Singh.

However, journalist Sudhindra Kulkarni, considered close to Lal Krishna Advani, said, “No one is saying that Narendra Modi deserves this candidature, whereas he deserves it.”

Actually, the dead body of Ramesh Kini was found in Alka Theater in Pune and at that time he was watching the English film Broken Arrow in the theatre. Bal Thackeray’s nephew Raj Thackeray was being accused of this murder and it became very popular. Prashant had shown blood dripping from the tip of a broken arrow in his cartoon. It was written with it – Broken Arrow – Disturbing horror cinema. The election symbol of Shiv Sena is also bow and arrow. It is clear that Prashant’s cartoon was a direct attack on Shiv Sena and Bal Thackeray expressed his views on it boldly. Bal Thackeray, who lived his life with such impunity, breathed his last on 17 November 2012.

The story of Bal Thackeray, who worked with famous cartoonist RK Laxman in the Free Press Journal in 1950, is the story of a king maker. Thackeray’s cartoons were published in the Sunday edition of ‘The Asahi Shimbun’, a daily newspaper in Japan, and ‘The New York Times’. His political stature can be gauged from the fact that the entire Mumbai was shut down after his death. More than 2 lakh people participated in the last journey. Bal Thackeray was born on 23 January 1926 in Pune, Maharashtra. Eldest among 9 siblings. After marriage with Meenatai Thackeray, she had three sons – Bindumadhav Thackeray, Jaidev Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray. Uddhav is today the Chief Minister in the Shiv Sena-led coalition government in Maharashtra.

Anna Hazare has ended a high-profile hunger strike in Delhi after 12 days

Opening Saturday’s debate in Delhi on the proposed amendments, Mr Mukherjee said India was “भारत एक मोड़ पर है,” with the focus squarely on the country’s parliamentary democracy.
Mr Mukherjee said that while there was support for Mr Hazare’s proposals, a solution would have to be found within the Indian constitution.
Meanwhile, governing Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi said he had “गंभीर संदेह” that a single bill would end corruption.
Mr Gandhi told MPs that the problem could not “सिर्फ इच्छाशक्ति से दूर किया जा सकता है” and thanked Mr Hazare for “लोगों को इस भावना को व्यक्त करने में मदद करने के लिए.”
“भ्रष्टाचार को खत्म करने के लिए कोई सरल समाधान नहीं है. लेकिन मुझे गंभीर संदेह है कि एक ही विधेयक से भ्रष्टाचार खत्म होगा। हमें प्रभावी कानूनों का एक सेट चाहिए,” he said in a rare speech.
In April, Mr Hazare called off a hunger strike after four days when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said he could help draft legislation to create a “जन लोकपाल,” an independent body with the power to investigate politicians and civil servants suspected of corruption.
The final version of the bill was presented in early August, but Mr Hazare and other activists rejected it because the prime minister and senior judges would be exempt from scrutiny.
This week, the government appeared to agree to the demand that the prime minister would be brought under the ombudsman’s jurisdiction.
Mr Hazare has also said parliament should come to an agreement on three more of his proposals:

• The lower bureaucracy should be brought within the ambit of the ombudsman
• Putting together a “नागरिक चार्टर” for time-bound disposal of public grievances against government
• Bringing the anti-graft ombudsmen in the states under the federal anti-corruption watchdog
  His campaign for the strengthening of the anti-corruption legislation proposed by the government has received widespread support, with tens of thousands of people attending protests across the country.
  India has recently been hit by a string of high-profile corruption scandals including a telecoms bribery scam that may have cost the government $39bn (£23bn), alleged financial malpractice in connection with the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games and allegations that homes for war widows were diverted to civil servants.
  Critics of the government say the scandals point to a pervasive culture of corruption in Mr Singh’s administration.
  A recent survey said corruption in Asia’s third largest economy had cost billions of dollars and threatened to derail growth.
